In this video, Kajira explains the fundamentals of American Tribal Style (ATS) and how to use movement vocabulary and cues to achieve the synchronized group improvisation unique to this belly dance style. She teaches both slow and fast movements, with plenty of breakdown and demonstration. She also shows variations on the movements and how to transition from one movement to another. The technique section includes demonstration performances by Kajira and members of United We Dance, using the movements taught in this video, allowing you follow along and practice the movements and reading the cues. Also included is a costumed performance by Kajira and members of United We Dance featuring the movements and cues taught in this video.

Kajira teaches a variety of moves, building on the vocabulary covered in Volume 1, adding more complex rhythms and combinations. This program includes demonstration performances by Kajira and members of United We Dance, using the movements and cues taught in this video and in Volume 1, so you can follow along and get used to doing the moves and reading cues. Kajira, with members of United We Dance, also demonstrates pattern variations that your tribe's chorus can use to add to the richness of the entire performance.
